Former Buckhannon fire chief Larry Mackey honored with ceremonial salute

BUCKHANNON — Retired Buckhannon Fire Chief, Larry Mackey, was laid to rest on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020.

In honoring Chief Mackey, the funeral procession passed under a ceremonial arch known as Crossed Ladders, created by the Buckhannon Fire Department Truck 11 and the Elkins Fire Department’s ladder truck, before proceeding on to the burial at Heavner Cemetery.

The funeral procession was led by the Buckhannon Police Department from Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home to Chief Mackey’s final resting place. Read the full obituary here.
