Really Really Free Market and Community Potluck scheduled for Sunday, July 13

A community Really Really Free Market and potluck will be held Sunday, July 13, from 1–3 pm at Walnut and Chestnut streets, featuring free goods, services, food and opportunities to connect and volunteer.
The Spring 2025 Really Really Free Market and Potluck

A Really Really Free Market and Community Potluck is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025. All are welcome! The event is free to attend.

On Sunday, July 13, starting at 1 pm, community members will gather for the seasonal Really Really Free Market and Community Potluck at the corner of Walnut and Chestnut Streets, behind Alpha Sigma Phi. Community member Lyndon Auvil is supporting this meetup with the use of his property. Zinn’s is supporting our gathering with the use of a portable toilet. Brushstroke Ministries is supporting our get-together through the use of their parking area, and they will be on site for people to learn more about their community work.

What is Really Really Free Market?

This is a time to get to know each other and offer support.

Feel free to show up and give on Sunday, July 13, from 1–3 pm. Sometimes people, businesses, and organizations prefer to offer services, like bike repairs, hair cuts, resume help, or face painting. Some prefer to give items, like clean clothes or home supplies. Feel free to offer a service or items. Please bring a table, chair, blanket, or whatever you’ll need for setting up your gift-giving area.

Givers also receive! Community members who are able to give often find something they’ve been wanting or needing. You can participate even if you cannot stay the whole time, but please help clean up before you leave and take all items of yours with you that were not gifted to someone. Don’t feel like you have anything to give? We all have something to share. A conversation, meeting and connecting with someone in our community, is a gift.

What is a Community Potluck?

Another name for a potluck is a covered dish meal.

The potluck will start near the beginning of our gathering around 1 pm, or shortly thereafter. Bring food with a serving utensil for serving your dish OR bring a non-alcoholic beverage to share. Plates, cups, napkins, and utensils for eating are being provided by the local meal program Free Meals Appalachia. First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon is providing tables to set out the food and drinks, and a few tables for people to sit at when enjoying the meal together.

For more information, or to volunteer to help set up or clean up as a way of giving on the day, contact Heather Schneider at addieontheroadsweethome@gmail.com
