Upshur Senior Center will accept Christmas Care Package donations through the close of business Monday, Dec. 11

BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Senior Center has announced it will continue to accept donations for Christmas Care Packages through Monday, Dec. 11.

The Senior Center, located at 28 North Kanawha Street, plans to assemble Christmas Care Packages for older adults to brighten their holiday season and inspire joy. Upshur County residents can help by donating items that will be distributed to the center’s in-home and Meals on Wheels clients.

Items needed for the care packages must be brand new, and they include:

  • Shampoo and/or conditioner
  • Toothpaste/toothbrushes
  • Lotion
  • Bars of soap or body wash
  • Cozy socks
  • Hard candy
  • Crossword puzzles
  • Sudoku puzzles
  • Pillows and pillowcases
  • Hair brushes
  • Blankets
