Pearl Ruth Gillum, age 81, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born on November 17, 1941, at Selbyville, WV a daughter of the late Perley Raymond Miller and Doris Ruth Wilson Miller Lough. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Ralph Eskew in 1984; her second husband Edward Ray Gillum in 2022; four stepsisters: Anna Rose McAllister, May Whitehair, Boots Tressel, and Hazel Marsh; two stepbrothers: John and Morgan Miller; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by one daughter Deborah and husband Randy Howes of Buckhannon; one son Danny Eskew of Buckhannon; six grandchildren: Jamie Rowan, Cody Howes, and Brandon, Brady, Austin, and Zackery Eskew; four great grandchildren: Gracelynn and Lily Rowan, Tanner McDaniels, and Charlie Ann Howes; one sister Patty and husband George Sutton of Mechanicsville, VA; one brother Gary Miller of Buckhannon; and special family friend Larry Burkhammer.
Ruth loved to read Amish books and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Bethlehem Community Church.
The family will receive friends at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM — the funeral hour, with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
