Tuesday, May 5

Curbside Recycling Pickup begins at 6 a.m. Pickup occurs within Buckhannon city limits. Information is available on the city website, at City Hall, or by calling the Recycling Center or Upshur County Solid Waste Authority at (304) 472-4443.

Thursday, May 7

Waste Collection Board Meeting, 7:30-8:30 a.m. Attend in person or join virtually via this link or by calling (669) 224-3412, access code 382-929-125.

Friday, May 8

Bulky Goods Collection begins at 5:30 a.m. Bulky goods collection is for large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses and appliances. All Buckhannon Waste Department customers are allowed four items per month and eight tires per year. Customers must call by Wednesday, May 6 to schedule a pickup. Items must be at the curb by 5:30 a.m. Friday to ensure pickup.

May 7 — Five Dollar Guitar Lessons, a group lesson for beginner to intermediate players, at 6:30 p.m.

May 14 — Banda Musicale Puccini Cave from Italy presents a concert at 9 p.m.

May 21 — Buckhannon Songwriters Meeting, a free monthly workshop, from 6-7 p.m.

June 5 — Bluegrass Night with Gauley Divide String Band from 7-9 p.m. — Tickets

Reminders

Trash can placement: Trash cans must be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week. Place them at the curb the night before collection and return them within 24 hours after collection.

Utility bill payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.

Report repairs or concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use the Report a Concern tool.
