Governor Jim Justice congratulated North Central West Virginia Airport as it nears completion of a $54 million terminal and airport expansion project. The expansion will enable additional flights and enhance passenger services.

The state-of-the-art facility aims to establish the airport as a central transportation hub for the region. The new terminal is 99% complete, with only final exterior cosmetic touches remaining. It is scheduled to open in Summer 2025, potentially stimulating local business and tourism.

The enhancement project at North Central West Virginia Airport would not have been possible without the Governor’s support. In August 2019, Governor Justice visited the airport to announce that he had requested $10 million from the West Virginia Infrastructure Jobs Development Council and an additional $10 million loan from the West Virginia Economic Development Administration to jump-start the project. Both loans were approved.

Besides the funding secured by the Governor, additional funds were provided by Harrison County, Marion County, the City of Bridgeport and the Benedum Airport Authority.
