Nearly 200,000 Girl Scout Cookie boxes to be distributed across West Virginia and Ohio

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Nearly 200,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies are arriving across Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council’s 61-county region as Girl Scout Cookie deliveries begin.

A total of 199,644 boxes — or 16,637 cases — will be distributed at major delivery sites in Charleston, Morgantown, Hurricane, Marietta and St. Clairsville before reaching local troops and customers throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.

The Charleston delivery alone includes 47,592 boxes, while 51,924 boxes will be distributed in Marietta. Morgantown will receive 42,180 boxes, Putnam County will distribute 30,780 boxes and 27,168 boxes will arrive in St. Clairsville.

Volunteers and troop leaders will gather at each location to collect cookies for initial customer orders and prepare for the upcoming Girl Scout Cookie Booth season.

“Cookie delivery days are always exciting because they represent the culmination of hard work from our Girl Scouts,” said Beth Casey, CEO of Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. “Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls learn how to run their own business. Seeing the product arrive is a tangible moment in that journey.”

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest entrepreneurial program in the world for girls. Participants develop skills in goal setting, money management, people skills, business ethics and decision-making — all while funding troop activities, community service projects and leadership experiences.

Cookie Booth season will follow deliveries, with troops hosting booths at local storefronts throughout the region. To find cookies near you, visit girlscouts.info/cookiefinder.
