My Buckhannon Insider Guide to Small Business Saturday

BUCKHANNON – Small Business Saturday is one day of the year to celebrate our hardworking neighbors and loved ones. Supporting a small business can be accomplished in a variety of capacities: a simple social media share, leaving a review on their website or purchasing a product or service allows someone’s dream to come true.

Small Business Saturday will be held Saturday, November 26, nationwide. Communities are encouraged to “shop local” or “shop small” during the entirety of the busy holiday shopping season.

Check out a few of Upshur County’s small businesses below, in support of our neighbors:

ARTISTRY ON MAIN

Artistry on Main is home to almost 30 West Virginia artists of various mediums; woodworking, pottery, mixed media, jewelry, fabric, beauty and more unique pieces.

While shopping small on Small Business Saturday, stop in Artistry on Main for a Beginner Cookie Decorating Class hosted by Heather Somers of Easy Dailey MicroBakery at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. All materials will be provided. The fun doesn’t end there! Take your sweet creations home with you to continue the fall festivities. Registration is required as seating and supplies are limited. Register now via the Artistry on Main website.

Visit the gallery to witness true talent from West Virginia artists at 27 E. Main Street in Buckhannon. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is closed on Monday.

CAROLINE & CO. BOUTIQUE

Caroline & Co. Boutique graced Buckhannon with their presence in 2015, formerly known as Caroline’s Closet. Since their move to Main Street in Buckhannon, Caroline & Co. Boutique has been a positive light in the Upshur County community.

“Caroline & Co. Boutique is a small business with a big heart,” said Lisa Karichoff and Jennifer Fluke, of Caroline & Co. Boutique. “We are so grateful and truly appreciative of those who choose to shop small and support our dream. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our neighborhood, the spine to our local economy and the spirit of our town.”

This women’s clothing boutique will be celebrating Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with exclusive doorbuster items, storewide discounts and a free gift with every purchase.

Join our neighbors in celebrating a small business like Caroline & Co. Boutique which is tucked into the lively Main Street in Buckhannon, located at 33 East Main Street. Shop till you drop at Caroline & Co. Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The boutique is closed on Sundays.

THE COOP AT FISH HAWK ACRES

The Coop at Fish Hawk Acres is a collection of unique concepts brought together with one common goal – celebrate new ways of bringing good food and good people together.

Fish Hawk Acres will host a Small Business Saturday Holiday Market on Saturday, November 26 at The Coop from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This Holiday Market will host local artists to encourage holiday gift shopping, supporting small businesses and shopping local this holiday season.

The Coop is an extension of Buckhannon’s well-known Fish Hawk Acres Market which is located at 4 East Main Street in Buckhannon. Fish Hawk Acres is located at 5 West Main Street in Buckhannon. Both locations are open for business Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
