CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Mountainside Applied Behavior Analysis is hosting the inaugural Summer Steps for Autism Walk, a 1-mile community walk, on Sunday, May 24, at Veterans Memorial Park in Clarksburg.

The event, set for 10 a.m. at VA Memorial Park’s Freedom Shelter, will raise funds for adaptive playground equipment for the children Mountainside ABA serves at its Fairmont center. Mountainside ABA is a locally owned Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy services agency in north-central West Virginia that provides behavioral therapy to kids ages 0-18 with autism.

This casual, family-friendly walk is an opportunity to get outside and celebrate the end of the school year and the start of summer while contributing to a cause and cultivating a sense of community.

Mountainside owner and founder Liz Simons said the goal of the event is to give area kids, families and staff a chance to bond, while building community and working toward a common goal that will provide a therapeutic benefit to Mountainside’s clients.
