BUCKHANNON — The Mountain CAP Family Support Center is scheduled to begin its next free parenting class on May 23 from 4:00-5:00 p.m.

The class meets for one hour once per week for six weeks and is based upon the Strengthening Families philosophy and the five protective factors.

A veterans outreach event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Upshur County Senior Center. VA staff and American Legion Post 7 will help veterans and surviving spouses with enrollment, disability claims and earned benefits; bring a DD214.
