Mountain CAP, WVU Extension offering free nutrition and cooking class in Buckhannon starting in January

The Mountain CAP Family Support Center, in collaboration with the WVU Extension Service, will offer a free family nutrition and cooking class beginning January 7 at 5 p.m. at 30 East Main Street in Buckhannon.

The “Eating Smart – Being Active” program consists of six individual 1.5-hour lessons designed to teach participants how to make healthy lifestyle choices and be more physically active. Topics include healthy meal planning, sampling new foods and recipes, food safety and tips for saving money.

Participants will receive weekly giveaways and a graduation certificate upon completion.

The program is supported by the WVU Extension Service Family Nutrition Program and a grant from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
