MORGANTOWN – Get Moving! will host its annual “Day of Play” event for children across West Virginia to encourage them to stay healthy while having fun.

The annual Day of Play event will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the WVU Football Indoor Practice Facility in Morgantown, W.Va. This event is free of charge for children ages four to twelve.

Get Moving! Inc. was established in 2014 in West Virginia due to the high rankings of childhood obesity in the United States. Get Moving! dares to change these statistics with the help of local athletes and special guests through teaching children about health and wellness while encouraging them to stay active at home.

“Obesity is a growing problem in the Mountain State. We are dedicated to giving children resources to live a healthy life.” (Get Moving! Inc.)

During the event, children can participate in a variety of activity stations, led by local athletes and special guests such as former Mountaineers Rasheed Marshall, Julian Miller, Adam Hensley and Corey Smith, among others.

At the conclusion of the event, children will be sent home with a goodie bag of healthy snacks, free information, a t-shirt and so much more!

Register for this free event on the Get Moving! Inc. website. Please reserve your spot quickly, before tickets run out!
