Mildred “Louise” Dean, 86, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont, W.Va.
She was born on October 16, 1933, in French Creek, a daughter of the late Floyd Hale and Bessie Vera Buchanan Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother Ronald Edwin Smith; one sister Jean S. Marks and husband Charles; and one nephew Ronald Michael Tenney.
She is survived by one son James D. Dean, Jr. of Fairmont; one sister Carolyn and husband Elmer Tenney of Buckhannon; sister-in-law Patricia Gainor of Morgantown; three nephews: Charles “Chuck” Marks and wife Nancy of Ijamsville, Md., Andrew and Joseph Berger; one niece Rebecca Berger; and one great nephew Joshua Marks of Ijamsville.
Mrs. Dean was a member of the West Buckhannon United Methodist Church and was retired from Purity Bakery.
At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nurses at Pierpont, Amedisys Hospice, and Chaplain Bill Stutler.
