Marlene Harrison

Marlene Harrison, 76, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2020.

Marlene was born on February 5, 1944 in Sterling, Kansas, a daughter of the late Farley Hutchinson and Loeva Brittain Hutchinson Neff.

On March 27, 1969, she married Jim Harrison who survives. Also surviving are four children, Lisa Trujillo and husband Joe and their children, Michael, Mitch and Julia, Angela Harrison Wolverton and fiancé Bill Clevenger and children, Victoria, Brandon, Blake and McKenzie, Jamey Harrison and child, Ashley, and Rodney Harrison and wife Allison and children, Caleb and Vincent and his mother Rosemary Harrison; five great grandchildren, Maddy, Zaiden, Laykin, Channing and Kason.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Alvin.

She attended Great Bend High School. She moved to Buckhannon shortly after marrying Jim and they celebrated their 51st  wedding anniversary this past March.

As a young woman and mother, Marlene enjoyed bowling, water skiing and horseback riding.  She and Jim were active members of the Upshur County Horseman’s Association and enjoyed hosting and participating in horseshows.

Marlene owned and operated  Sweet Memories Ice Cream Parlor and Crafters Market in Tennerton, W.Va. and for many years was a secretary and bookkeeper for her husbands Oil & Gas Consulting Company.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed.

A private service will be held for the family. date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to WV Hospice.
