Marjorie L. Ours

Marjorie L. Ours, 90, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Monday, December 9, 2019, at Serenity Care Home of Buckhannon.

She was born December 5, 1929, in Lorentz, W.Va., a daughter of the late DeWitt and Evelyn Smith Linger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. “Bob” Ours.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Aubrey Linger and two sisters, Kathryn Schweikart and Josephine Heckert.

She is survived by a special caregiver, Lilly Huff of Buckhannon; four nieces, Nancy Groves and Anna Jean Alexander and husband Kevin all  Bristolville, Ohio, Gail Linger of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Janice Huffman of Buckhannon; four nephews, David Linger and wife Barb of S.C., Allan Schweikart of  Bristolville, Mike Hecker and wife Melanie of Clarksburg, W.Va. and David Ours and wife Ann of Buckhannon and a friend, Kay McCue of Walkersville, W.Va.

Mrs. Ours was a member of the Upshur County Livestock Association, Upshur County Youth Livestock, the Upshur County Farm Bureau, the Brushy Fork CEO’s, the Hereford Association and the Black Angus Association. She was also a member of the Wayside Southern Baptist Church of Buckhannon.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 12, 2019, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery in Lorentz, W.Va.
