Margaret Ann “Peggy” Wilcher, age 83, of Johnson City, TN, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Buckhannon, WV, on March 10, 1942, a daughter of the late Cecil and Geneva Hinkle Grubb.
On May 12, 1963, she married Lynwood Lee Wilcher, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Lynn Grubb and Larry Lee Grubb.
She is survived by her two sons; Lyn Wilcher and wife, Caren of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Chad Wilcher and wife, Shelly of Johnson City, TN, and step-daughter Shirley Merrill and husband Scott of Syracuse, NY; seven grandchildren, Christopher Wilcher and wife Emily of Charleston, WV, Brandon Wilcher of Charleston, WV, Ashlee Wilcher of Ponte Vedra, FL, Dominique Demus of Shinnston, WV, Jordin Wilcher of San Diego, CA, Will Twigg of Johnson City, TN, and Rainy Merrill of Marcellus, NY; five great-grandchildren, Benji and Kate Wilcher of Charleston, WV, Aurora Demus of Shinnston, WV, and Sophia and Ruby Merrill of Mercellus, NY; one sister, Donna (Matthews) Tomblyn and husband Bruce of Buckhannon, WV, one brother, Robert Grubb of Morgantown; special niece Kelly White of Weston, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was an employee of the federal government for 35 years, before transitioning over to the Upshur County Clerk’s Office before she retired. Despite moving away from West Virginia, she was a member of the Full Gospel Church and watched the services virtually weekly. She truly loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
At Margaret’s request, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will be conducted on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Full Gospel Church located at 121 Utopia Lane, Buckhannon, WV, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Chad Lewis officiating, which will be followed by a dinner service.
In lieu of flowers, Margaret’s children and family ask friends to consider a donation to Full Gospel Church in her name.
