Lou Ella Teter

Lou Ella Teter, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

She was born July 31, 1941, in Randolph County, WV, a daughter of the late Ralph David and Helen Irene Shreve Nethken.

On September 16, 1961, she married William Teter who survives.  Also, surviving are two sons, Tim Teter and wife Patricia of York, SC and William David Teter and wife Linda Sue of Chester, SC; five grandsons, T.J. Teter of Blacksburg, SC, Patrick Teter of York, Wesley Teter and wife Brittany of Chester, Zack Teter of Chester and Lewis Teter and wife Lauren of York; three granddaughters, Kimberly C. Carson and husband Anthony L. of Drury, MO, Cheryl Elkin and husband Mark of Chester and Tina Devatt and husband Les of Charlotte, NC; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph David Nethken, Jr. and wife Betty of Beverly, WV, Bobby D. Nethkin and wife Sandy of White Hall, WV, Kenna Nethken Cheryl of Seaford, DE and Jean Rohr and husband Martin of Buckhannon; three sisters, Judy Simmons and husband Albert of Buckhannon, Connie McLaughlin and husband Terry of Littleton, CO and Donna Currence and husband Rick of Palm Harbor, FL; several nieces and nephews and a friend, Barbara Fultz of Buckhannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild and one sister, Betty Jane Nethken.

Mrs. Teter loved her job working for the F.B.I. She was a member of the Reger Chapel United Methodist Church in Buckhannon and a member of the United Methodist Women. She volunteered with the 4-H and enjoyed teaching sewing. Mrs. Teter was a quilter who enjoyed donating her quilts to be auctioned off to good causes such as Relay for Life and the Ronald McDonald House. She had a big heart and always loved helping others.

Friends will be received Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sherman Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Reger Chapel Cemetery in Buckhannon.
