Lawrence Harold Auskings, 80, of Buckhannon, W.Va. died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at his home.

He was born November 27, 1940, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Ernest and Virginia Maxson Auskings. On October 31, 1964, he married Sherry Rowan who preceded him in death on February 29, 2020.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Pigott; one great-grandson, Kolton Tomey; one brother, Art Auskings and three sisters, Margaret Beckner, Alice Smith and Mary Lee Burnside.

He is survived by one son, Lawrence Auskings, Jr. of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Ryan Tomey and wife Nikki of Buckhannon and Nichalos Dahlheim and wife Carly of Fairmont, W.Va.; one granddaughter, Natasha Cobb of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Kaiden Tomey and Kendrick Cobb both of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Savannah Tomey and Mylah Cobb both of Buckhannon; one brother, Wayne Auskings and wife Armeta of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Auskings served in the U.S. Army and was a Press Operator for Moore Business Forms.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside.
