BUCKHANNON — St. Joseph’s Hospital recently honored Laura Dean with the Valued Inspired Person Award (VIP) for the hospital. Laura works in the Food and Nutrition Department as a Dietary Aide.

Her co-workers say that she always has a smile on her face, regardless of the circumstances.

She is a hard worker who consistently takes on extra shifts to help cover her fellow employees. She is a true woman of God who will help anyone who is having a bad day. She is respectful, compassionate and selfless, and cares about both her patients and her co-workers. She even gave her own Miraculous Medal necklace (a devotional medal) to an older, fellow Catholic patient who admired it.

Her actions every day make her well-deserving of the VIP award.
