Lady Buc netters tumble in home clash to North Marion

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buc tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the visiting North Marion Huskies Wednesday evening.

It was the only contest of the week for the Lady Bucs as weather postponed everything else.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Madelyn Frye came up just short at No. 3 singles, dropping an 8-6 decision to Emily Gabor.

“Madelyn played a great match in singles,” Buckhannon-Upshur head coach Jason Rock said. “She got up early but couldn’t pull out the win in the end. I think she played a great match overall though and the 8-6 score shows that it was a close, competitive match.”

The loss dropped the Lady Bucs to 0-7 on the season.

They will be back in action Monday at home hosting Philip Barbour and Fairmont Senior and then on Tuesday, they will meet Robert C. Byrd and Grafton at Robert C. Byrd High School.
