Lady Buc cross country team debuts at Preston with 12th-place finish

KINGWOOD – In the unique Preston Knight Night Relays, the Buckhannon-Upshur cross-country Lady Bucs finished 12h out of 31 teams from 17 high schools Saturday night.

Considered more of a ‘fun run,’ the teams are split up into relay teams and run at night under the lights of Preston High School.

The Lady Bucs finished with an overall time 42.55.3 for their 12th place finish.

University won the team title with a time of 35.40.3 while Morgantown was second with a time of 36.26.8 and Parkersburg was third with a time of 38:01.8.

Abby Rogers of University had the fastest split time with an 8:43.7 while Adelyn Tager of University had the second fastest split time of 8:46.3.

For the Lady Bucs, freshman Gwendolyn Rogosky had the fastest time of 10:17.4 while Isabella Bowers ran an 10:57.6, Pressley Bowers an 11:08.4 and Chloe Lewis a 10:31.9.

The Lady Buc B-Relay team finished 15th with a time of 43.49.4.

Their times were Lena Rose Walker (10:45.2), Mallory Moss (10:39.1), Angelina Winter (11:08.3) and Anya Morehead (11:16.7).

The Lady Bucs will run again Tuesday at University for a 4 p.m. meet.
