Lacrosse Lady ‘Cats lose 17-4 decision to Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The West Virginia Wesleyan lacrosse team fell on the road to Ohio Northern 17-4 on Sunday evening. The Panda Bears got 34 shots on goal compared to Wesleyan’s seven and forced WVWC into 24 turnovers.

ONU dominated the opening quarter, taking a 8-0 lead until Raveena Navalgund put the Lady Bobcats on the board. The Polar Bears would put another goal up before the end of the quarter, leading 9-1 after one quarter.

Reese Hutson netted a goal first in the second quarter to trim the deficit to seven. Ohio Northern answered with four more goals in the quarter, holding onto a commanding 13-2 lead at the break.

Emma Reger and Navalgund scored the last two goals of the game for Wesleyan but the Polar Bears controlled the remainder of the game to pick up the victory.

Rylle Kocik scored a game-high five goals to lead Ohio Northern. Elana Martin, Meredith Miller and Emma Hoersten all scored three goals apiece in the win.

Navalgund led the Lady Bobcats with two goals while Hutson and Reger added one goal each. Gabriella Gomez had 17 saves in the loss.
