Lacrosse Lady Bucs hike record to 10-0 after wins over UHS and Wheeling Park

WHEELING – The Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs had their closest match of the year last Thursday on the road against the University Hawks, but still prevailed by a 14-13 score.

They followed that up with a 23-3 victory on the road over Wheeling Park on Saturday. The two wins improved the Lady Bucs to 10-0 on the year.

Their average margin of victory in their first 10 games is 17 goals.

In their one-goal victory over the Hawks, Miranda Greene, Hannah Walton and Kierra Arbogast each had four goals while Kendall Defibaugh tallied two goals. Walton had a team-high six ground balls.

Haylea Crihfield made 12 saves in the victory for the Lady Bucs.

In their 20-goal victory over Wheeling Park, Greene led the way with five goals while Reese Hutson had four and Defibaugh and Gaidian Adams had three each.

Adams led the team in ground balls with five. Crichfield and Emma Corder shared time in net for B-U and each made one save.

The Lady Bucs will be back in action Friday hosting Fairmont Senior. The Polar Bears will enter the game with a 10-1 record. The contest with start at 7:30 p.m.
