TENNERTON – In a rematch of last year’s state title game, the Fairmont Senior and Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Bucs battled it out Friday night at Freal “Red” Crites Memorial Stadium.

The Polar Bears came away with a 16-6 victory.

Fairmont Senior took a 10-3 lead at the half and doubled up the Lady Bucs in the second half for the 10-goal victory.

Kendall Defibaugh led the B-U attack with three goals while Mallory Moss had two and Maya Garcia one.

Aubrey Harrison paced the Polar Bears with eight goals.

Moss and Kendall Hefner led the Lady Bucs in ground balls with three each.

Fairmont Senior owned a 27-18 advantage in shots-on-goal.

Haylea Crihfield made 11 saves in net for B-U while Elizabeth Amos stopped 12 shots for Fairmont Senior.
