TENNERTON – Tucker Hatfield tallied four goals to lead the Buckhannon-Upshur lacrosse Bucs to an 11-8 home win over Mountain State Saturday evening.

The Bucs took an 8-3 lead at the break and owned an 11-5 lead after three and then held off a determined Mountain State team for the three-goal win.

Following Hatfield in the scoring column for B-U were Nathan Smith with two and Kaleb Roby, Cam Carpenter, Kevin Bohnsack, Justin Streets Ranger Burgess each with one.

Streets added three assists while Smith, Hatfield, Roby, Carpenter each had one assist.

Roby led the team in ground balls with 19 while Streets had 15.

Mountain State owned a 29-18 lead in shots-on-goal.

B-U keeper Remmy Bennett made 21 saves while Mountain State goalie Declan Ranson turned away seven shots.

The win improved the Bucs to 2-2 on the season.
