BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Stockert Youth & Community Center (SYCC) Director Debora Brockleman is doing her best to not let COVID get the best of her. While it was deemed not safe to hold the traditional Children’s Festival due to the pandemic, she came up with the safest alternative possible – a drive-thru event!
SYCC’s Children’s Festival Family Road Trip 2.1 is a FREE event for children and families and is being held at Jawbone Park (enter by Fox’s Pizza on Spring Street) Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or while the giveaways last).
Here is how it will work: Hop in the car and drive through with your parents or guardians, stopping at each Pit-Stop Station to receive a take home bag of goodies! Bags will include take-and-make crafts, snacks, supplies, info packets for families and chances to win some awesome prizes.
Another part of the Children’s Festival Family Road Trip 2.1 will be happening on the Stockert Youth Facebook page, where you can watch performances from local organizations such as the SYCC All American Twirlers, B-UHS Drumline and Aux Band, WVWC Dance Team, WVWC Drumline, Karate Demo, Kickboxing Demo, Read Aloud and more.
