JV Lady Bucs tumble to Musselman, 48-22

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur junior varsity Lady Bucs managed just one field goal in the first half and only four for the game in a 48-22 setback at home to Musselman Saturday afternoon.

Three free throws were all the Lady Bucs managed in the first quarter, two from Kylie Hull and one from Avi Travise as they trailed by a 15-3 score.

Travise hit a three-pointer and added three free throws and Hull dropped in three free throws in the second quarter which went to Musselman by a 10-9 score.

Buckhannon-Upshur trailed at the half by a 25-12 score.

B-U was outscored by an 8-6 count in the third quarter with Travise canning another trey, Hull adding a basket and Mackenzie Egress a free throw.

That left B-U down by a 33-18 score going into the fourth quarter.

A three-pointer from Martina Mota and a free throw from Hull was the only offense for B-U in the fourth quarter which saw them get outscored by a 15-4 margin.

Payton Smith led Musselman with 12 points while B-U was paced by Travise’s 10 points.

The loss dropped B-U to 0-3 on the year heading into Tuesday’s 5:45 p.m. road battle with Elkins.
