TENNERTON – Off to two solid starts, the Buckhannon-Upshur softball and baseball teams are getting some state-wide attention as both squads are ranked in this week’s WV Metro News Rankings in Class AAAA.
The softball coaches’ poll is voted upon weekly by a panel of coaches across West Virginia and this week they have put the Lady Bucs seventh with 44 points.
Cabell Midland is first, receiving all 11 first place votes.
The baseball rankings are voted upon weekly by a panel of 10 radio broadcasters and sports writers across West Virginia.
The baseball Bucs checked in at No. 7 this week with 34 points.
Jefferson sits atop the Class AAA rankings with six-first place votes while George Washington is second with four first-place votes.
