Julia Rose Hamner

Julia Rose Hamner, 69, of Gaines, left this earth to gain her wings on Saturday, April 20, 2024, after a long illness at Autumn Lake Health Care Center in Elkins.

She was born in Buckhannon on June 25, 1954, a daughter of Wanita Mae Gregory Hamner and the late French L. Hamner. In addition to her father, Julia was preceded in death by six brothers: French Lloyd Hamner,Jr., Frank Hamner, Phillip Hamner, Michael John Hamner, Paul Eric Hamner, and Steven Mark Hamner; and one sister, Minnie Mae Hamner.

Julia is survived by her mother, Wanita Hamner of Gaines; five siblings: Melva Teter of Walkersville, Richard Hamner, Allan “Sputter” Hamner and companion, Sherrie Friend, Stanley Hamner, and Lisa Perrine and husband, Richard, all of Gaines; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was a Methodist by faith. Julia was a outdoors person. She loved planting flowers and doing anything outside. Julia worked at the Moose in Buckhannon for several years. She enjoyed life and always had a really big smile for everyone. Julia made friends where ever she went. She had a heart of gold. Julia will be missed by all who knew her. She was a really big help to her mom before her health starting going downhill.

Julia’s request for Cremation has been honored and a Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Julia Rose Hamner. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com
