Jimmy Helmick

Jimmy Helmick, 74, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Sunday, February 14, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

He was born September 10, 1946, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a son of the late Clifford and Olive Shackleford Helmick.

On July 12, 1970, he married Mona Helmick who survives of Buckhannon. Also surviving are one daughter, Angy Helmick of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Kailyn, Madison, and Abby Ware all of Buckhannon; his grand dog, Maggie; four brothers, Tucker, Gary, Ronnie and Bernon; three sisters, Shirley, Carolyn and Rosalie and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David.

Mr. Helmick was a Heavy Equipment Operator and a member of the Good Hope Tabernacle in Buckhannon. He enjoyed the outdoors, four wheeling, hunting, and meeting up daily with his Hardees Breakfast Crew. Jimmy was the most loving selfless man who adored his family, especially his granddaughters.

Friends will be received Friday, February 19, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Good Hope Tabernacle. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Friday at Good Hope Tabernacle with Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. In honoring Mr. Helmick’s wishes he will be cremated.
