Jessica Lee Bruso

Jessica Lee Bruso, age 42, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, October 10, 2024, at United Hospital Center. She was born on December 1, 1981, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a daughter of the late David A. and Geraldine Ann Groves Bruso. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her cat Angel.

She is survived by one sister Crystle Cartagena and husband Ramon of Weston; one niece Alexis Cartagena of Weston; one nephew Alex Cartagena of Clarksburg; five nieces and nephews: Kamron, Azaria, Jamison, Casius, and Taliyah; her best friend Cassi Vaughan and spouse Derrick Fulks and her children: Alex, Emmaleigh, and Haylee; several aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved dearly; and several animals: Milo, Bella, Squirt, Chloe, Harley, and Socks.

Jessica loved animals of all kinds and had a smile and eyes that would light up any room. She had a resiliency that could be admired and was an inspiration to all to never lose hope.

The body will be cremated, and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility, 318 Mud Lick Rd, Buckhannon, WV, 26201.
