Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Tenney

Jeffrey Allen “Jeff” Tenney, age 35, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, June 13, 2020.  He was born October 28, 1984, in Buckhannon, a son of Edward Tenney, who survives, and the late Paula Mae Staley Tenney.  

He was united in marriage on October 24, 2009, to Erin Hanline Tenney who survives.   In addition to his father and his wife, he is also survived by three children who referred to him as ‘Dad’:  Bentley, Riley and Everly Tenney, who called him “Papa”; one brother David and wife Ashley Tenney and son Colton of Buckhannon; one sister Shawna Tenney of Buckhannon; father-in-law Mark Hanline; sister-in-law Jessica and husband David Phillips and son Aiden; best friend Matthew “Skippy” Reid; and his favorite pet dog Mia.  

Jeff was a diesel mechanic.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.  He loved his children and family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside funeral services and interment will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Hanline-Tenney Family Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Killingsworth officiating.  Friends may gather at noon at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel for a procession to the cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.  Online condolences may be extended to the Tenney family at www.heavnerandcutright.com  The Tenney family entrusted the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel with funeral arrangements.
