James Allen Chapman

James Allen Chapman, age 59, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

He was born July 28, 1964, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Clyde Columbus and Goldie McCartney Chapman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence G. Chapman, Carroll Lee Chapman and Norman Eugene Chapman; one sister-in-law, Shannon Chapman and one brother-in-law, Andy Heater.

He is survived by one daughter, Zena Stackpole and husband Rusty of Buckhannon; one stepdaughter, Zephanie Hollister and husband Eric of OH; one granddaughter, Olivia Stackpole of Buckhannon; one grandson, Isaak Stackpole of Buckhannon; one step granddaughter, Khloe Hollister of OH; one step grandson, Mason Hollister, of OH; four sisters, Mary Rose Reed of Tallmansville, WV, Flora Ruth Tharp and husband Eugene of Buckhannon, Karen M. Heater of Hodgesville, WV and Geraldine M. Young and husband Robert of Ketchikan, AK; four brothers, Clarence William Chapman and wife Linda of Hackers Creek, WV, Roy Rogers Chapman and wife Louise of French Creek, WV, Donald Clyde Chapman and wife Terry of Fairmont, WV and Marvin T. Chapman of Adrian, WV; one sister-in-law, Susie Chapman of Hodgesville and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chapman was lovingly known as Junkyard Chappy and he loved to go junkin’. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. “Junkyard Chappy” was the life of the party and always had a smile on his face.

Friends will be received Friday, October 6, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery in Sago, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
