BUCKHANNON — The Clothes Closet will have a yard sale again on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2.
The sale will take place both days from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m./noon on the Clothes Closet’s back porch, 47 Sedgwick St.
The Oct. 1-2 Yard Sale includes only brand-new fall and winter items.
The Upshur County Commission has signed a contract with artist Tom Acosta for a new mural on the county maintenance building near Main Street. Backed in part by a $5,000 state tourism grant, the $11,500 project is expected to be completed by May 1.

Elizabeth “Bunny” Mow, 98, passed away on February 7 in Colonie, N.Y. She was a longtime educator, helped found West Virginia Professional Educators, and was devoted to her family.
Curtis Litton poured in 26 points and six threes, but Wesleyan fell 89-72 to University of Charleston at home in MEC play. Charleston’s balanced scoring and dominance in the paint (40-16) plus points off turnovers (27-6) proved decisive as the Bobcats’ rallies were answered.
West Wesleyan survived nine lead changes and seven ties, then erupted in the fourth quarter to beat Charleston 76-73 and stay second in the MEC at 16-5 (13-4). Ana Young and Kilah Dandridge scored 19 apiece as the Lady Bobcats shot 64.3% in the final frame to seal it.
