Gwendolyn Rebecca “Teddy” Wentz

Gwendolyn Rebecca “Teddy” Wentz, 90, of Buckhannon died on Wednesday January 5, 2022, at the St. Joseph’s Nursing Care Facility.  

She was born on October 12, 1931, in Buckhannon a daughter of the late Ira and Madge Lewis Harman.  In addition to her father and mother she was preceded in death by three brothers:  Deward, Dwayne and Loy Harman; two sisters:  Constance Harman and Augusta Allender.

She was united in marriage on May 29, 1953, to Troy Wentz, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 21, 2014.  She is survived by one son Steven Troy and wife Verlie Wentz of Youngsville, NC; three grandchildren; Ashley, Stephanie, Emily and two great grandchildren; one brother Gary and wife Susan Harman of Buckhannon; three sisters:  Avandelene Cornell, Luella and husband Maynard Hanifan of Buckhannon and Diane and husband Glenn Payne of Arizona.

Teddy was retired from the Fort Pitt and Madison Shoe Store on Main Street in Buckhannon where she started in 1962 and worked for approximately 30 years. She attended church and bible study at the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon.

Teddy enjoyed being outside, the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
