Dandridge has 23 points off the bench, but Wesleyan women fall to FSU, 90-78

FAIRMONT —West Virginia Wesleyan shot over 61 percent from the field, but a hot-starting Fairmont State University squad proved too tough to overcome as the Lady Bobcats dropped a 90–78 road decision Saturday afternoon at Joe Retton Arena.

Fairmont State (7–1, 2–0 MEC) used a barrage of early threes and relentless offensive rebounding to build separation, while Wesleyan surged late behind standout efforts from Ana Young, Allie Daniels, and Kilah Dandridge. Despite winning the fourth quarter 23–16 and outshooting the Falcons by 20 percentage points, Wesleyan could not bridge the gap created across the first three periods.

Three Lady Bobcats scored in double figures, paced by Ana Young, who posted 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting and drilled five three-pointers. Young also added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 33 minutes.

Kilah Dandridge provided explosive scoring off the bench, pouring in 23 points (10–17 FG) to go with four assists, four rebounds, and two steals, helping Wesleyan stabilize offensively through the middle quarters.

Allie Daniels controlled the interior throughout the game, finishing with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double on 5-of-7 shooting, while also recording a team-high three steals.

Fairmont State built much of its lead during a blistering first quarter highlighted by Leslie Huffman, who hit four three-pointers in the opening minutes and finished with a game-high 27 points, six assists, eight rebounds, and four steals.

Guard Gabby Reep contributed 14 points and nine assists, while forward Ryan Davis added 12 points off the bench, repeatedly converting at the rim.

Wesleyan returns home next week for another Mountain East Conference matchup, this time against Point Park University (Pa.) on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rockefeller Center. Admission is free.
