He was born in Buckhannon, on May 25, 1982, the son of Robert Page Young and Geraldine Marlene Chapman Young of Ketchikan, Alaska who survive. Dustin was preceded in death by one brother, Kirk Young; and his biological father, David Bailey.

Remembering Dustin’s ornery nature with his parents are ten siblings: Lisa Young of Vancouver, WA, Buddy Young of Snowshoe, WV, Eric Young of Prince of Whales, AK, Jason Young, Josh Young, Kayla Young, and Daniel Young all of Ketchikan, AK, Robert Young of Burlington, WA, Delbert Young of Baltimore, MD, Dallin Young of Cut Bank, MT; sister of the heart, Jennifer Lee of Orlando, WV; best friends: Branson Lee, Ilias Lee, and Rachel Strawder.

Dustin was a proud graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School in the class of 2000. He often regaled his friends and family with tales of his youth. Dustin was a man of the outdoors, finding peace and solace in fishing, hunting, and riding his four-wheeler. He was also an avid movie watcher, his comprehensive knowledge of films often surprising those around him. His deep love for animals was evident in his interactions with them, and he was often seen spending time with his pets. Dustin was not just a man of words, but a man of action, whose love for the world around him was a testament to his character.
