Gertrude Belle “Maggie” Freeman

Gertrude Belle “Maggie” Freeman, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV, died at her home on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

She was born November 25, 1954, in Grantsville, WV, a daughter of the late L. Denver Husk and Betty Lou Knights Husk Gifford.

On March 2, 1974, she married Dennis Freeman who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Ruthann Armentrout and Mary Paugh both of Buckhannon; two sons, Jerry and Timothy Freeman both of Buckhannon; five grandchildren, Micah, Rebecca and Miryah Paugh all of Buckhannon, Dillion Robertson of Weston, WV, and Christopher Armentrout of Buckhannon; two sisters, Bessie Henneman and Kathy Griffin both of Buckhannon; three brothers, Donald and Ronald Husk both of Akron, OH and John Husk of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Shirley E. of Akron.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey Armentrout; son-in-law, Rickey Armentrout; brother-in-law, Waco “Dan” Griffin; sister-in-law, Donna Husk; nephew, Sam Griffin; and her best friend, Sherry Glover.

“Maggie” was a homemaker and a member of The Way Of Holiness Church.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM at The Way Of Holiness Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating.

Following the funeral service, Mrs. Freeman will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
