Wesleyan’s Timothy Barney scored just five minutes into Sunday’s Mountain East Conference skirmish between the ‘Cats and West Liberty, but the three points would prove elusive after a miscommunication in the second half allowed the visitors to draw even.
After two full overtime periods, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The ‘Cats dominated statistically, firing off 14 shots to just six for West Liberty, while controlling a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. The draw leaves Wesleyan at 4-2-1 heading into Thursday’s 7 p.m. home game against Davis and Elkins.
