Freda Floe Skidmore

Freda Floe Skidmore, 82, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Saturday, February 27, 2021, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va.

She was born September 19, 1938, in Buckhanon, a daughter of the late William Otto and Christine Bonner Reed. On June 15, 1956, she married Lewis Delmer Skidmore who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Richard, Ralph, Wayne, Neil, Robert, Billy and Junior Reed; three sisters, Elizabeth Sims, Dottie Judy and Ruth Reed and one son-in-law, Kevin Bucklin.

She is survived by one son, Delmer Allen Skidmore and wife Deborah R. of Spencer, Ohio; one daughter, Peggy M. Bucklin of Buckhannon; two grandsons, James Jason Evans and wife Kimberly of Buckhannon and Larry Skidmore and wife Kristy of Fruita, Colo.; two granddaughters, Kristen Hill and husband Walter of Spencer and Suzanne Pender and husband Austin of Kendallville, Ind.; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Hamerick of Buckhannon and her special friend, Bill Perry of Buckhannon.

Mrs. Skidmore was a proud member of the V.F.W women’s auxiliary, the Ladies of the Moose and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She loved dancing and a little bit of gambling. Mrs. Skidmore was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. All guests attending the visitation and funeral will be asked to wear a mask while inside the building.
