First Community Bank drive-thru temporarily closed due to hazardous material leak on adjacent property

BUCKHANNON — The detached drive-thru at the Buckhannon branch of First Community Bank has been impacted by a hazardous material leak on an adjacent property, according to a press release from the bank.

“The leak did not occur on or reach our property, but it did affect the air quality at the drive-thru,” First Community Bank said in the release. “Out of an abundance of caution for our teams and our customers, we have temporarily closed the drive-thru.”

The bank is working with the Department of Environmental Protection to take all necessary precautions and will reopen the drive-thru as soon as it’s safe for everyone involved, the release notes.

“We understand that the Buckhannon drive-thru is a staple of convenience for many of your banking practices,” the bank said. “As such, we’re extending our lobby hours at 2 West Main Street in Buckhannon from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday; and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.”
