Final two 2021 Festival Fridays canceled

The 2021 season of Festival Fridays has come to an end.

“Create Buckhannon has decided to cancel the final two Festival Fridays due to the increase in COVID cases in the community,” according to a press release. “This decision was made with the health of our volunteers, vendors and the community at large in mind.”

The decision comes as the number of COVID-19 cases in Upshur County has surged nearly 500% in August.

“We appreciate the community support of Season 9 of Festival Fridays and look forward to our 10th season in summer 2022,” the press release says.
