LUV 4 Animals, Jenkins Subaru and Lewis-Upshur Animal Control are hosting a Subaru Loves Pets adoption event Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lewis-Upshur Animal Control, 318 Mud Lick Road in Buckhannon. Adoption fees are reduced to $50 for dogs and $25 for cats.
Volunteers will help visitors spend one-on-one time with the animals: walking dogs, interacting with cats and getting to know their personalities. All adoptions are handled through Lewis-Upshur Animal Control. Small giveaways will be available for adopters, and a Jenkins Subaru representative will be on site.
Vaccinations will not be offered at the event. Vouchers for free rabies and DHPP vaccinations will be available the following week at Jen Kesling State Farm Insurance and the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce during normal business hours. Lewis-Upshur Animal Control staff will schedule the vaccination appointments separately.
Those who can’t adopt can help by donating dog or cat food, leashes, collars, harnesses, treats, toys, other pet supplies or money to LUV 4 Animals or Lewis-Upshur Animal Control.
