Pipestem Resort State Park hosts its first Pipestem Oktoberfest Oct. 16–18, a weekend festival spread across the entire resort with food, entertainment and shopping.
Friday, Oct. 16
- 5–9 p.m. – German buffet, Bluestone Dining Room at McKeever Lodge
- Evening – Contests and games at the Black Bear Grill & Lounge, followed by a free concert by Reed and Walker on the Black Bear stage
Saturday, Oct. 17
- 10 a.m. – The Marktplatz opens at the Headquarters grounds with juried handcrafted items from local artisans, food trucks and state park gift shop items
- Noon–4 p.m. – Cruise-in car show, Headquarters grounds
- All day – Pipestem Bier Garten tent at Mountain Creek Lodge, reached only by aerial tramway, with free live entertainment from acts including JJ Robinson, Dave Runyon and David Hurley, free contests and games, and Bavarian food, giant pretzels and draft beer for purchase, including the state parks’ 36 Parks private-label draft
- Ticketed – A dinner by Chef Marion Ohlinger at Mountain Creek Appalachian Cuisine, and Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys in the Faulconer Room at McKeever Lodge
Sunday, Oct. 18
- Morning – Special breakfast at the Bluestone or brunch at Mountain Creek Appalachian Cuisine
- Daytime – A ladies-only Walk in the Outdoor Space hike celebrating the first all-female spacewalk in October 2019
