Help Audra State Park’s team beautify the upper picnic area and future group camping area during National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers will gather fallen sticks and leaves into piles for the park’s maintenance crew to haul away. West Virginia native plants will also be donated as part of the effort to reduce invasive species and restore the area’s natural beauty.
Meet in the upper picnic, group camping and overflow area at 7812 Audra Park Road, Audra, WV 26201. Bring cold drinks and snacks.
Audra State Park Naturalist Jen Butcher also invites participants to help document species during a bioblitz. Download the iNaturalist app to add interesting finds from the day.
The event is part of National Public Lands Day’s Caring for Our Shared America observance, emphasizing conservation and shared stewardship during America’s 250th anniversary.
