Registration and check-in for Buckhannon-Upshur High School’s 2026 homecoming parade begin Wednesday, October 14 at 5 p.m. The parade runs from 6 to 7 p.m., and this year’s theme is “Greek Garden.”
Lineup is on Sedgwick Street between East Main Street and College Avenue. Vehicles must enter Sedgwick Street from College Avenue only. Walking and marching participants may be dropped along Lightburn Street or Latham Avenue and walk to their units; vehicles cannot enter lineup from those locations.
The parade proceeds west on East Main Street to Spring Street, turns left onto South Spring Street to Madison Street and turns left onto Madison. Floats must continue to South Florida before passengers unload.
The school’s route instructions say the route was modified because South Kanawha is a detour for construction along Route 20 by the courthouse. In an October 12 update, B-UHS Student Council Advisor Ty Landis said the homecoming events would keep their scheduled times and encouraged umbrellas because rain was expected.
