Elsie was an employee of the Upshur County Board of Education for 31 years.  She considered every child she prepared a meal for as one of her own children.  She loved crocheting, reading Amish books, and especially bowling.  She was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the gospel singing group, the Revivalaires, and enjoyed singing at various churches.  She was a breast cancer survivor.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel.  The body will lie-in-state at the Center Chapel United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 12-1:00 PM—the funeral hour, with Rev.
