Elkins Raceway hosts first Autograph and Picture Night of the season

Fans share a high-five while Super Late Model driver Jacob Hawkins signs autographs / Photo by Beckie Boyd

KERENS – Fans flooded the track at Elkins Raceway Saturday evening for a meet-and-greet with local dirt track drivers. Families of all ages had the opportunity to get photos and autographs from their favorite drivers.

Drivers came prepared to meet fans with autograph cards, candy, checkered flags of their own and smiles on their faces while – potentially – meeting the next generation of dirt track drivers at Elkins Raceway.

Did you miss this Autograph and Picture Night? Don’t worry, you’ll have a chance to meet the drivers at the second Autograph and Picture Night on Saturday, July 23 (however, the schedule is subject to change).

As the regular racing season is well underway at Elkins Raceway, races are heating up and competition is getting fierce. As the green flag fell, the upcoming checkered flag was all that mattered then.

Saturday’s feature race winners were as follows:

  • Younger Mini Wedges – Nelson Herron
  • Older Mini Wedges – Brad Currence
  • Super Lates – Jacob Hawkins
  • Crates – Brent Trimble
  • Modifieds – Dave Defibaugh
  • Street Stock – Kevin Keene
  • Hot Mods – Daniel Helmick

Come on out to Elkins Raceway this Saturday, June 11 for another evening of Thunder in the Mountains. You don’t want to miss it!

Below is the full list of race results and a handful of photos from the event on June 4. See our full photo gallery with over 200 watermarked high-resolution photos from Saturday’s races here.
