Edrie Catherine Sines

Edrie Catherine Sines, 103, of Buckhannon, passed on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, after an extended stay at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon.

She was born in Pickens on April 28, 1917, a daughter of the late William Edward and Roxie Isabell Hefner Byrd.

Edrie married Sherman Archie Sines. Together they shared many wonderful years of marriage before his passing on June 21, 1987.

She was a wonderful wife and great mother to her children who survive: Hazel Shirley Jefferson of Fla., Hetzel Leo Sines of Ohio, Nathan Allen Sines of W.Va., Archie “Lee” Sines of W.Va., and Perry Landis Sines of W.Va., and to one son who preceded her in death, Donald Ray Sines. Edrie is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, husband, and son, Edrie was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Early Byrd; and one sister, Josephine Myrle Byrd Tharp.

Edrie never met a stranger and always spoke the truth. She was a true person with a grand wit about her. Edrie loved to quilt and was very skilled at it. She also liked to garden and loved having plants in her home. Her green thumb was beyond compare. Edrie liked fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors. She loved life and God. When she was asked how she lived so long, her response was, “keep your nose clean”. That was mom.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required indoors. Family and friends will gather at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 12-1 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Funeral Services will begin 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Goshen Cemetery in Canaan.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Edrie Catherine Sines. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com.
