Edith Carol Castle

Edith Carol Castle, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, WV.

She was born November 17, 1949, in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of the late Vinson and Billie Joyce Justice Sturgille. On July 31, 1967, she married Everett Edgle Castle, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2021. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Lucas and Dakota Castle.

She is survived by two sons, Everett Edgle Castle, Jr. and wife Kathy of Stanton, VA and Shane Curtis Castle and wife Asia of Summerset, VA; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Karissa, Brandon, Taylor, Everett III, Makayla, Gabriella, and Harper Castle; one sister, Bathsheba Black; one brother, George Butler; special nephew, Ricky Black; nephews, Josh Black and Rhett Butler and several other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Castle was a Protestant and a homemaker. Mrs. Castle loved her family dearly and traveling. Some of her favorite trips included cruising, Disney and going to the beach. Edith enjoyed feeding the deer at her home and the birds at ERCC. She also enjoyed all the activities at ERCC, especially Bingo.

Friends will be received Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
